Hello all, my name is Amy and I’m the owner of this amazing venue! It all started with a trip to visit my son in Virginia. An Axe Throwing business opened up down the way from him and he thought it would be fun to go and check it out. So we did….and I loved it. So began my dream of bringing Axe Throwing to Delightful DeLand! I told my husband on the flight home “I’m going to open an Axe Throwing Venue in DeLand. As you can imagine he rolled his eyes and he let out a big OH GREAT sigh. I designed the layout in my head and hired a team from California to fly in and build my dream. After much ado Wise Axe was born. We opened on Sept 23, 2019, and 6 months later Covid closed us down for 3 months. We made it thru thanks to all of your support. We spent the first 3 years out at the airport industrial park. I had often thought of locating to a more visible location but never dreamt I would find the perfect location right on the Blvd. in downtown DeLand. So my team and I painstakingly dismantled Wise Axe board by board,1,000s of screws later, and rebuilt where we are now! I hope you enjoy all that we have to offer as much as we do! From dancing to running half marathons to teaching yoga, Arielle has always enjoyed staying active and trying new things. She is looking forward to coaching and learning more about the sport of axe throwing! As a certified Precision Alignment Yoga instructor and now your coach at Wise Axe, Arielle will use her knowledge of alignment and body awareness to enhance your axe throwing technique while simply having fun! Arielle graduated from The University of South Florida in Tampa in 2012 with a B.A. in Dance Studies. She can't wait to be your coach!

Hi. My name is Alex Chase. I’ll be 65 in February and I’m a DeLand native. I spent 38 years of my life as a prosthetic technician which was very fulfilling! I got to work with my hands and create and in the process, I was helping the amputee population. Am currently making sonobouy’s for the U.S. Navy and our allies to protect against enemy submarine threats! I started making knives when I was 10 as a hobby. In 1995 I got serious about making and selling knives and became a voting member of The Knifemakers Guild. That went great for the next 12 years then life just kinda got in the way. I’m still making knives but not to the extent I was. Still find it very satisfying! I started sharpening axes for Amy when she opened and my current title at Wise Axe is Keeper Of The Axes! I’ve enjoyed that as well and will continue as long as she will have me! Hope to see y’all at Wise Axe… it’s truly a hoot, Alex
